Rockstar Gta Online
New Year’s Eve is almost upon us, and to celebrate the end of 2019, Rockstar is offering GTA Online players gift packages. Although the game’s festive holiday event may have concluded (and the snow disappeared once again), New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day will give players one last opportunity to get their hands on festive items. These include both Fireworks and the Fireworks Launcher, of course.

Rockstar’s GTA Online New Year’s Gift Packages
“The rare Southern San Andreas snowfall phenomenon may have subsided,” writes Rockstar; “but forecasters do expect a return just in time to say goodbye to 2019. In addition, playing GTA Online on New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day will reward you with a pair of festive bodysuits […] You’ll also receive a care package […].”
Tomorrow, on the 31st of December, players have their first chance to get these final festive gifts, which includes the Yellow Reindeer Lights Bodysuit. Anybody who plays on the 1st of January will get the Neon Festive Lights Bodysuit too. Plus, the gift packages on both days will include a Fireworks Launcher, 20 Fireworks, and a full amount of Armour and Snacks. Of course, there’s also various discounts still available in-game which players can check out, including on vehicles and equipment. If you missed the main holiday event last week, this will be the last chance to get your hands on these items for this holiday period.

Alongside the New Year’s gift events, Rockstar is also releasing a brand-new version of a classic vehicle; the Dewbauchee JB 700W. “Just when you thought old school cool couldn’t get any cooler,” write Rockstar; “the Dewbauchee JB 700W is back. And yes. This time, it’s weaponised”. Indeed, this new version of the Dewbauchee features in-built weaponry, including retractable machine guns and deployable landmines. The new weaponised Dewbauchee is available to buy now from Warstock Cache and Carry.
Lines of codes found in the latest Grand Theft Auto Online update have seemingly hinted that GTA Online on PS5 will use Rockstar’s updated RAGE Engine, which was last used in Red Dead Redemption 2.
This information comes from the GTAForums (via GTABase), specifically from the user Tez2. The line of code, which is only found in the updated version of the engine used in Rockstar‘s latest game, reads as follows “rage::fwuiMessageBase”.
Although, Tez2 goes onto mention that it could be the case that the UI of the game would utilise Red Dead Redemption 2’s base code, whilst the actual gameplay still runs off the engine used in the PS4 version of the game. This user also found code relating to character transfers between the PS4 and PS5 versions of the game.
Tez2 is known in the GTA Online community for posting information from the files of the game, but it is still worth airing on the side of caution until we hear something concrete from Rockstar.
